PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE...

Since our founding in 2004, Madison Roller Derby has been rooted deeply in empowering female athletes and volunteers in Madison. In the past 18 years, roller derby has grown exponentially, and we have too. We moved from lighted track rope at Fast Forward, to games at the Alliant Energy Center Coliseum. Now we are growing even more and need a home of our very own.
Our league has been pioneers in the world of roller derby. We were one of the first leagues to form in the country. We passed one of our sport’s most inclusive non-discrimination policies, and our governing body shortly followed suit. During this time we have also supported over 200 Madison organizations, community groups, and charities through donations and volunteer

DID YOU KNOW?!

While roller derby is our passion and our reason for existing, supporting our community and helping our members grow as people is just as important. MRD dedicates its time and practice to training not only skaters, but essential life and job skills. Everyone that's a part of MRD is a volunteer, everyone has a role in making our organization operate. From art and design, to financial operations, to community outreach, everyone has a valuable skilled job within the league. MRD works for its members and works for this community!
We work, skate, play, and volunteer! We are here for you - now is your time to support us. MRD can be even more for this community, and a venue of our own would do just that. We would be able to expand our league, grow our new junior derby program, and offer a great space for other community events and functions.
