Madison Roller Derby Tryouts - Season 16 (2019-2020)
Tryouts are open to contact-level skaters who are 18 years or older and female or non-binary identified.
Tryouts are Sunday, September 8 at 9:00am to 12:30pm and will be held at Fast Forward Skate Center at 4649 Verona Road, Madison, WI 53711. Doors open at 9:00 for waivers, photos, and Q&A. There is no fee to try out.
Makeup date is Tuesday, September 10 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Skaters who wish to try out, but cannot attend tryouts or the make-up date should register for tryouts and select that option. Please note: trying out this fall is mandatory for any skater who wants to be considered during a mid-season draft.
Tryouts include a short interview and are structured similar to an MRD practice, including contact and scrimmage-type drills that allow skaters to demonstrate skater safety and WFTDA minimum skills. Competency with WFTDA minimum skills is not required to enter the draft pool, but is a prerequisite for being drafted.
Skaters who successfully complete the tryout will be welcomed into the draft pool of eligible skaters and attend draft month practices. Cost for draft month is $40, due at the first practice.
Draft month runs Tuesday, September 10 through Tuesday, October 8 with the following practice schedule:
- TUE 6:30-8:30
- THU 5:30-7:00
- SUN 9:00-11:00
Draft night is Friday, October 11.
